Detroit Lakes Youth Hockey

DLYHA will be holding a one week summer camp for youth hockey players.  The program will begin on June 19^th and run through the 25^th.

The daily program will consist of one hour long skill session per group and a game session later that night.  Each group will also have a dryland session.  Each dryland session will begin 15 minutes after each on-ice skill session, i.e. pee wee will be on ice at 1pm and off- ice at 2:15pm.  Saturday and Sunday ice will be pond hockey and give the kids a chance to have some fun playing with their friends.  Mites and termites will run one hour skill session each day and dryland only.

The program will be run by Lakers High School Coach Chris Denardo, his staff and DLYHA youth coaches as well as former and current Laker players.  Girls Coach Gretchen Norby will run the girls sessions along with her staff, other youth coaches and former and current Laker players. 

Price per player for the week will be $35 for termites for 4 hours of ice, $65 for mites for 7 hours of ice and dryland.  All other levels will be $115 for 12 hours of ice and dryland.  Each player will also receive a summer hockey jersey.  Goaltenders skate for free and must play goalie during the camp.  Deadline for registration will be May 15.

Individual skills to be focused on will be skating, shooting, stick handling and passing.  Team skills will be emphasized during game sessions.
