Section 22: Harassment Policy

It is the intent of DLYHA to provide a safe and enjoyable environment. Within this context, it is DLYHA's official position that harassment of any kind will not be tolerated in any manner. Any player who believes he or she is a victim of harassment shall immediately notify a coach, the Grievance Committee or a DLYHA Board Member [for instruction on how to file a proper complaint]. All complaints shall be brough to the grievance committee for investigation.

Section 23: DLYHA Grievance Procedure

If a parent or guardian of a registered player, a DLYHA coach, or DLYHA referee is involved in a situation where a concern or problem has become evident, the person(s) shall immediately notify the coach, the Grievance Committee or a DLYHA Board Member [for instruction on how to file a proper complaint]. All complaints shall be brough to the grievance committee for investigation.

Within the complaint you will be asked to:

a) Explain the DLYHA or USA Hockey Code of Conduct that was broke as thoroughly as possible.

b) Have you discussed the issue with the Head Coach or the parties involved?

c) List all people and their role involved with the grievance.

d) Describe a solution you would like to see take place.

The Grievance Committee will investigate the complaint. The Hockey Grievance Committee will make a recommendation to the Board. The Board will make the final decision. If the compliant is found to be valid, a written brief shall be kept on file.

DLYHA Policy: Code of Ethics

(Page 4 - DLYHA Policy Handbook) In an effort to make the sport of youth safe and enjoyable for all participants and spectators, a ZERO TOLERANCE policy will be strictly enforced within the DLYHA community. By acknowledging this policy, all parties are stating they will abide by all the rules and regulations contained within the DLYHA policy handbook, Minnesota Hockey, and USA Hockey guidelines. Any violations of said rules and regulations will be acted upon immediately with appropriate sanctions taken. All players, parents, and coaches will be required to sin the code of conduct prior to the start of the season as outlined in the Appendix of the Policy Handbook.

DLYHAs "Zero Tolerance" policy extends to acts of vandalism and/or malicious mischief. Vandalism is the intentional and malicious destruction or damage to property of another. Malicious mischief does not require actual damage to property unlike vandalism, but falls into the category of misjudgment on one's part.
