DIBS Playbook

What are DIBS?

DIBS are volunteer shifts that DLYHA asks parents to help with during the season. Think of them as your chance to jump on the ice behind the scenes and keep the rink running smooth.

Why do we do DIBS?

DIBS help score big for the league—funding equipment, jerseys, ice time, program improvements, and keeping registration costs down. Every shift you take helps the team off the ice!

How many shifts do I need to do?

Most families are asked for 1–2 shifts per season, depending on the number of registrants. Each shift is usually 3–4 hours—plenty of time to make an impact without getting winded.

How do I know what to do?

Never fear—you’ll never be alone in the crease. Every DIBS session has someone who knows the ropes, and a quick training is provided. Easy as a wrist shot to an open net!
