Age Eligibility
Bantam / 15U is generally for players ages 13–15 during the 2026–27 season.

Season Format
The season begins in mid-October, with Bantam evaluations scheduled for the week of October 26. The Detroit Lakes High School coaching staff conducts the evaluations.
Bantams practice Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings from 6–7 a.m. There are occasional Friday practices and regular Monday evening skills sessions.
Travel games begin in mid-November. DLYHA aims for each Bantam team to play 40–45 games, with up to three tournaments. Tournament counts may vary by level, while the goal remains an appropriate number of games for each team.
The program focuses on the Train to Train stage of USA Hockey’s American Development Model and follows Minnesota Hockey’s Minnesota Development Model. DLYHA also uses the USA Hockey Skills Progression guidelines for 14U–18U players.
