Take your skating to the next level with DLYHA's Laker Power Skating Series. This free preseason program is designed to help players develop the skating skills that make the biggest difference on the ice.

Led by Hockey Director Joe Schiller along with experienced skating coaches Marc Harrie and Sam Williams, this eight-session series focuses on the fundamentals of powerful, efficient skating while preparing players for the upcoming hockey season.

Whether you're looking to gain speed, improve agility, or become more confident with the puck, this program provides quality instruction close to home.

Program Details

Cost: FREE

Dates: Mondays & Thursdays, August 3–27

Sessions: 8 total on-ice sessions

Session 1

Advanced Mite, U10 & Squirt

5:30 – 6:15 PM

Session 2

Peewee, U15 & Bantam

6:15 – 7:00 PM

What Players Will Learn

Throughout the series, players will focus on developing:

  • Power skating technique
  • Edge control
  • Agility and quickness
  • Balance and body control
  • Coordination
  • Acceleration and top-end speed
  • Efficient skating mechanics
  • Confidence with every stride

Experienced Coaching

Players will train with:

  • Joe Schiller – DLYHA Hockey Director
  • Marc Harrie – Over 20 years of skating development experience in the Fargo-Moorhead area
  • Sam Williams – More than two decades of skating instruction in Winnipeg

Together, these coaches bring years of specialized skating instruction and a passion for helping players reach their full potential.
